Grant is driving Xander out to the coast. Xander’s staring out into the void with those creepy snake eyes of his and it’s getting clear that he’s seeing stuff. He’s psychic. He sees two people trying to get off a sinking yacht. One dude’s head is bleeding and you probably won’t notice yet but the lady has spock ears. Grant, meanwhile has figured out that he’s been had. Xander has manipulated this moment by getting Grant to push for the castaway’s rescue. For some reason, Xander wants to appear to have been reluctant to do it, even though rescuing them was always his intention. Still Xander’s pushing the responsibility onto Grant, telling him he’s going to regret forcing him to save them. Grant responds by saying that it’s right to intervene, to save people if you can. Xander responds by telling Grant some psychic insight into what’s going on on the wreck. He tells Grant that the elf lady is holding on to a faint hope that she can see a rescue light. Grant flips on his high beams.
