Chateau Grief 244

Narration(Xander): Whispers.

Narration(Xander): Thoughts voiced, but intended to stay clear of me.

Narration(Xander): Almost no one is in the arms of their spouse.

Narration(Xander): Atmospheric pressure has dropped in front of a storm that’s due to hit in three days. People are off balance.

Narration(Xander): and irritable.

Narration(Xander): It’ll release when the storm hits. And there will be a great swell of enjoyment while people watch the rain, safe in their warm houses.

Narration(Xander): I try not to interfere with the natural order of things. …too much.

Narration(Xander): Not so much older than you, I’d said. At your advanced age, she’d mocked.

Narration(Xander): As if it would have been any easier when I was a young idiot.

Author Notes:

Sure that will help.  This is going well.

characters: Xander

episode recap:

Well he may be sitting on a balcony drinking like a fish, but his spirit walks the streets of Eynhallow and all is not well.  Xander chalks it up to a storm that's moving in in a few days.  Gives a bit of a scope of the radar apparatus, eh?  Well he stares at his hands and he stares at the moon, and then he stares at his glass.  And then he smashes his glass against his head, reconstitutes it, and goes for another drink.  He doesn't stay cut up for more than ten seconds either, whether it's conscious or unconscious. & he looks like he's taking his cues from that waning moon.  We needed yet another goddess symbol lurking around.  Luna.  Queen of Lunatics.  Finally he's had enough of the sauce, and smashes the decanter on the balcony as he returns back inside.
