Qureshi: It’s not enough!

Qureshi: All creatures band together against those who are not of their species. You cannot blame us for fighting you.

Qureshi: You’re a telepath. Go away to some other island and trouble the people there. We are tired of you here.

Xander: It’s my island. I’m going to put in an elephant preserve someday.

Xander: It’s my island. Why don’t you get your own?

Qureshi: We didn’t ask to get sent here!

Xander: I didn’t ask for it either! They didn’t care if you starved.

Xander: I kept you alive.

Qureshi: By God, you are an arrogant man.

Narration(Xander): Ha. Farook Qureshi. Sixty-two. Heart and soul of the Diamond Warriors Resistance to bring Freedom to Eynhallow. No contingency plans. Hypocrite, busybody, blowhard.

Narration(Xander): Phenomenal cook. Mostly a hypocrite. Earthman. Mostly harmless.

Qureshi: You are reading my mind right now, I feel your slippery tentacles down my neck. But consider this, telepath, what it must be like to be the subjects of a god.

Qureshi: How you might feel if I had been given the cosmic power you wield, and you were me, a lowly man.

Qureshi: I would tell you to have compassion on us poor insects but it is futile to plead with a whirlwind.

Xander: Don’t you dare lecture me about being the prisoner of God.

Xander: Don’t you dare.

Author Notes:

Xander: I’ll give you anything you want.

Qureshi: why are you so mean to us

Episode Recap:

So Esme’s one superpower, as we have seen before, is the ability to get irrationally angry.  It’s been commented upon.  She has an immensely protective psyche which cloaks all attempts to get her to change her mind in slavering rage.  Well.  Good luck arguing with that one Ves.  I doubt he’d want to go anywhere near her mind.  She’s just going to be irrationally angry from here on out, so tough luck Xander but the point goes to her.  Qureshi is happy to jump in on the verbal side of things, and in defiance of Xander’s gun laws, he inexplicably has a gun, which Rafe probably stole for him.  Qureshi and Xander argue.  Qureshi thinks Xander should leave.  Xander claims his right to have a space of his own.   There will never be a settlement to this, someone’s gotta go, but Xander doesn’t force the issue.  He rips into Qureshi’s mind and does a brief ‘not really a threat’ assessment, and Qureshi once again tries to cast Xander in this role of a god walking the earth.  Xander, who has Octopus breathing down his neck all the time, and who knows what other cosmic Cthulhu stuff to deal with and a lifetime of people trying to get their way by pushing this guilt trip on him….cough…Xander uh, takes offense.
