Chateau Grief 141

Narration: A little past the usual dinner hour, the Resistance gathered in the unprepossessing home of Farook Qureshi, on the insistence of the lion aspect of the archangel Raphael...to discuss a matter that had heretofore been considered...unspeakable.

Marozi(thought): The meeting is well attended-- as far as they go.

Narration(Marozi): Most of the diamond warriors.

Narration(Marozi): Plus the new recruits, the Campbells and the Lyrkens.

Narration(Marozi): Qureshi popping in and out of his steaming kitchen. Making thousands of dishes...

Narration(Marozi): ...pining for his Mrs. Qureshi and their four daughters in Chicago.

Narration(Marozi): on Eynhallow it's difficult not to join the Resistance.

Marozi: I want to thank you all for coming, you're probably all wondering why you're here...

Marozi: AHEM!

Qureshi: Speak up James!

Marozi: I have made a very important discovery...

Marozi: We've been handed an opportunity to get an inside view into the palace. Into Xander's very mind.

Author Notes:

Yes I love the awfulness of this house's interior.  <8 foot ceilings.  Plaid couches.  What in the world is going on with that floral wallpaper?  ORANGE SHAG CARPET!  an Eikler knockoff el-cheapo Classic California place if I've ever seen one.  But the lot sizes are enormous...because Xander insists on standards.  Also it backs up to the ocean. No tears for Qureshi.

CHATEAU GRIEF PATREON

Characters: oh boy, uh, the whole Resistance and more, in order: Farook Qureshi (owner of the bookstore), James Marozi(he sprouts tentacles), Allyson Hipsher (Kore's homeopath guild leader), Patricia Campbell(new recruit), Angus Greenhorn(enthusiastic), Mike the Hat(hungry), Baby Ben Lyrken(evil), Alan Lyrken(not Catholic), Gregory Campbell(can turn people's hair yellow & fly), Esmerelda Jones(ouch those glasses), Mrs. Lyrken(apathy in the flesh), some random devotee of the Force, and we know Xander's gotta be watching from somewhere, don't we.
