Chateau Grief 289

Kore: Rafe in all seriousness, I’m ice inside. I couldn’t love Ves if I wanted to. And at this very minute—well, at the minute we left,

Kore: Xander was figuring that he had finally reached the nirvana of enlightenment…wherein women are seen for the carnal distractions that they truly are. He’s probably vowing celibacy this very minute.

Marozi: Actually he’s imagining running his fingers through your hair.

Kore: I wish…things were different.

Kore: I am not going to waste my second chance.

Kore: My feelings will not interfere with the mission.

Xander: Heckuva second chance, Kore!

Marozi: He’s making you see things again, isn’t he. Toying with your heart like you absolutely can’t toy with his.

Marozi: He is incalculably more valuable than you are. Remember that.

Marozi: If he fails, I will make you take his place. And you don’t have a lifetime of preparation. It would be…messy.

Kore: Whatever you need, Rafe. You were there for me when I needed it most. It is my honor to serve.

Author Notes:

Yeah Xander, what do you care anyways?

characters: Kore, Marozi

Episode Recap:

We’re still in bizarro world this week, sorry. Kore is declaiming to Marozi how she’s really not all that emotionally entangled with Ves and he’s busy telling Grant that he’s sick of womankind as well so this is probably not going to work out anyways, right? So no worries. Marozi mentions that there may be a more physical level of attraction involved. This is not something Kore would think of, actually. I don’t know if she figures he’s lying or just decides not to address that, but she changes the subject, sort of. So she gives a teary eyed proclamation of loyalty. Xander objects to this. Marozi deduces from her reaction what’s going on. He reiterates the terms, Xander is off limits. And Kore is on the hook for this whole shebang if she makes a wrong move. This does not phase Kore in the slightest. Nope, she doesn’t even blink. Marozi has earned her loyalty, which we sorta knew, ‘cause we’ve seen it, but this is how deep that runs. Deep. If Xander wants to use her to break free from Marozi, he’ll probably have to destroy her to do it and she’d take his punishment. Would he do such a scummy thing that scumbag? I guess we’ll see.
