Kore(polyphonic): I thought we wanted a democracy was I mistaken?

Kore(polyphonic): Has everything I’ve heard about life here under the telepath been false?

Kore(polyphonic): Do you really do his bidding? Work his will when he’s in danger?

Kore(polyphonic): Do you rise up like you can’t help it and protect him from any harm?

Kore(polyphonic): Now for the first time in our lifetimes we have a chance to overcome him and you can’t do anything but fight among yourselves?

Xander (telepathy): This feeling…go tell the raging crowds outside to shoot themselves for envy.

Kore (thought): …this feeling…

Xander (telepathy): They’re beginning to get the wrong idea about your voice.

Kore (thought): that’s the plan Ves. You made the rules of this game.

Xander (telepathy): Go on, make yourself less conspicuous. Get out of here.

Author Notes:

Say what you will about the horned headband and the steampunk dresses, the obsession with Jekyll Island and the religion-of-teenage-metal-garagebands, she's got her head on straight.

characters: Kore, Xander, Di

Episode Recap: It looks like everyone is standing still long enough for Kore to help Di down from the little stick pile and into the waiting arms of her minister or lead guitarist or something.  Kore keeps whining about something in technicolor. It doesn’t matter what it is.  Just snippets of words.  Xander meanwhile has been quietly edging his way through the crowd to stand back-to-back with Kore as she’s delivering her little anti-Xander speech.  He states something to the effect that he very much enjoys her company.  Also that everyone’s beginning to connect some dots and figure out Kore’s a telepath too. Kore confirms that she planned for this outcome, right before someone launches out of the crowd with righteous indignation over her privileged psychic status, oppressive vocal talents, not to mention the svelte figure and bouncy golden ringlets.  It was the only decent thing to do, considering. She was using words. Hate-words. Xander backs away, before telling Di and the….oh gosh now I have to think of a metal satanist band name.  Di and the….come on someone help me out here…. Anyways, Di knows when to scram.
