Narration(Xander): He’s focused on blocking the pain. Arguing with his cells to keep his body from going into shock.

Narration(Xander): Poor thing. He has no idea how to deal with cells.

Thought(Shane): Is she all right? Did he hurt her? Why can’t I think straight and get us out of this mess?

Xander: Shh. You’re going to be ok.

Narration(Xander): But his mind thrashes.

Flashback(Shane): Ms. Smaragdos?

Narration(Xander): That was ten years ago. She hadn’t even glanced at him the day she got out of rehab.

Flashback(Shane): Look, if it’s ok to say it, I am the obvious person for this job.

Xander: What made you swear fealty to her? What made you try again and again?

Episode Recap:

So Shane’s still taking a luxurious nap amid some bbq sauce and Xander is assessing things and figuring out how he’s going to fix this.  Shanes arm comes off the stove in multiple pieces, which honestly, this is the grossest thing I’ve ever done in CG so far. But nothing matters to Xander who just stitches him back together and heals him, you know, exactly like he claims he can’t do for Shane’s mind.   Grant is hovering in the background like a nervous nellie, and he’s finally shut up for ten minutes, which definitely is a first.  Shane wakes up with a start and Xander’s waiting to pounce on him good.  Xander is looking for information about Kore from Shane’s fractured and sepia-toned mind.  Kore and Shane’s relationship appears to have been exceptionally distant and silent from an emaciated Kore.  Shane got hired to do something though, but the memory doesn’t show what.  Xander asks Shane why he’s devoted to Kore even though he was friendzoned repeatedly.  And I had to cut the episode there because it would be humongous so Shane’s answer to that coming next week, sorry.
