Grant: This is you. I know it’s bare, but Xander is sending over all kinds of junk for you tomorrow.

Kore: Rhelan…I just…thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Grant: Rest well, Eugene will be difficult to handle tomorrow.

Narration(Kore): A bed, a nightstand. A picture on the wall… doesn’t look like the house of the second-in-command of Eynhallow.

Narration(Kore): Given…Xander’s taste…

Narration(Kore): But who am I too judge a thing like that? Is this really happening now or has this all happened years ago?

Narration(Kore): Back when Ves Xander’s name was Thanos Shane?

Narration(Kore): Outside I hear all of Eynhallow… car horns, footsteps, people bartering, arguing,

Narration(Kore): it has to be an illusion.

Grant: What is it?! What’s the matter?!

Grant: It’s a warm night for December. I’ll fix it tomorrow, gives me an excuse to avoid Eugene for a day.

Kore: You’re right. I could heal Shane. I didn’t believe it before. I can’t hide from this anymore.

Kore: I could just heal Shane and leave.

Grant: Like I said, don’t do anything drastic until tomorrow.

Grant: We’ll work this out, Kore, don’t worry.

Grant: Gor blasted dad gum complicated folks like heck I’m going back to bed.

Author Notes:

feel trapped yet, Kore? everything's moving like molasses.

Episode Recap:

Grant walks Kore down the hall and gives her one of his guest bedrooms, past his minimalist decor and small art pieces. Then he leaves Kore to go insane alone. She’s losing track of time, she’s losing track of space. Finally, finally! The eyes thing that Xander planned all along is kicking in for her and she’s wondering if Xander and Shane aren’t the same person after all. Yes Xander planned this back in like episode 10 and here we are. I’m not sorry. Kore can’t stop the voices in her head, so she accidentally breaks Grant’s spiffy mid-century-modern window. Grant, hears the crash (hey Xander is a great otorhinolaryngologist apparently), rushes in to save the day in his nice little dressing gown. Kore’s got that cray cray look in her eyes and she tells Grant that yes he’s right, the only reason she can’t get her act together and rescue herself and Shane is….she can’t bring herself to leave Xander. Grant tells her it’s ok, not to go off and hang herself, and that he’s glad to have an excuse to rummage through his garage for construction tools instead of talk to Xander tomorrow. Wins all around for everybody. Kore is left alone, curled up in a ball in the corner.
